Patricia Highsmith - The Talented Mr Ripley

Everyone of course knows the movie. Not everyone knows the book. This happens a lot of course. I was in the same situation. I've now read the book. It's nice. It took me quite a while to get into the book. It seems to start very very slow. But once things start happening, the book is very nice. I ended up really enjoying the book. And eventually, you remember your last impression, not your first impression ;)

They are all very nice, although I remember getting stuck somewhere in the ‘Boy who followed Ripley’, but I’ll read that one again when I have more time.

One of my favourite Ripley books is ‘Ripley’s Game’. I’m also very positive about the movie, starring John Malkovich. Have you seen that one? It’s quite hard to get your hands on here in the Netherlands, but if you are unable to find it just send me a quick note, because I have it on DVD.

It’s a very different movie, so it is unfair to compare it to the Talented Mr. Ripley, but in my opinion it’s better in some ways.
