Setting iTerm tab names
I work a lot with terminal windows, and on my MacBook Pro I use iTerm2 for this. But a lot of tabs can be confusing. Unfortunately, there is no simple GUI for setting tab names in iTerm2 (that I have found). After a quick question, Joshua Thijssen found the answer on how to do this through a simple command.
Being lazy and forgetful, I decided to write a simple bash script to execute this command. What I wanted to be able to do is enter a command with a title, which would then become the tab title. Something like this:
itermtabname leftontheweb
This is of course a very simple thing to do, but I have never done any shell scripting. So with a bit of Google Fu I found out how to do this. It is indeed very simple:
I've also added this script to my toolbox.

Bram van Leur: Thanks. I felt like this should not be a script but something in my .bashrc. I've tried writing an alias, but I couldn't figure out how to do the escaping in the .bashrc properly. However defining a bash function is really easy. Just add something like:
tt () { echo -ne "\033]0;$@\\007"; }
and you can do "tt leftontheweb" anywhere to set the tab title.
