Using YUI grids: A dream come true

I've never been a hero when it comes to putting designs into a good HTML/CSS website. It's just not my strength, and also not something I overly enjoy. Especially the fact that anything I put together would break under Internet Explorer was a hell. But when Dave Dash pointed me towards the YUI grids feature, a new world opened for me.

Another update for the weblog, this time quite some bit bigger. Some bugfixes, but also a new homepage. I had this in mind before launching 4.0 but wanted to get 4.0 out the door, so it got delayed a bit... but it's here now.

Zend Platform JobQueue

Being a pretty open source-minded person, I tend to stay away from commercial solutions for stuff that can be done differently. But every once in a while you come by a possibility or need to use the commercial variant. Interesting, as you see another solution. For me, this recently happened with Zend Platform's JobQueue feature.

Symfony Lounge: Second Life symfony

Second Life is gaining popularity these days, amongst geeks and non-geeks. It's taken me a while to stand and understand the use of Second Life, but especially for knowledge sharing I see the use after attending a presentation inside Second Life. And since my wife is very good at creating things in Second Life, the idea for a hangout place for symfony enthousiasts was born.

First workday, a long day

Today was my first workday at Ibuildings . A long day for me, since I had to take the 6:10 AM train to get to Vlissingen at 9:15.
